CAGE CASHIER

POSITION SUMMARY

The Cage Cashier will be responsible and accountable for the redemption of chips to guests. They will also follow all rules and standards as set forth by Zeppoz and Mr. Z’s Casino

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all times operating principles are being adhered to:
  • Safety - We want all guests and team members to be protected from danger, risk, or injury. If you see something, say or do something. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Cleanliness - Keep all areas clean and pristine. If there is something that needs special attention, we should contact the appropriate department (housekeeping, marine, maintenance, beverage, etc.)
  • Friendly/Helpful – Smile and always be on the lookout for guests who may need assistance. Whenever possible, we want to answer questions and assist the guests. In certain cases, we may need to contact another team member.
  • Positive Attitude and Having Fun - Be interactive with all internal and external guests and other team members while maintaining professional standards and a positive attitude. Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and welcoming attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of the cage and players systems.
  • Responsible for cashing guests out, giving correct change, and answering guests’ questions in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Responsible for accurately counting and recording assigned funds and making exchanges of funds throughout the shift.
  • Keep cash drawer balanced and impressed; make exchanges with vault; verify and document personal identification information for check and cash advance transactions; complete CTRs, W2Gs, and MTLs.
  • Responsible for guest relations, assuring guests have a favorable gaming experience.
  • Keeping work area neat, tidy and organized.
  • Ensure safety and security of team members and guests.
  • Complete knowledge of all facilities and entertainment available to guest.
  • All other job duties as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

The position is responsible to the Cage Manager/Supervisor for the successful performance of assigned duties.

EQUIPMENT/TECHNICAL
 
Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, the following:
 
  • Computer, calculator, money sorting/strapping equipment, telephone, radio, and other equipment that relates to the function of a casino cage.

ESSENTIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 
These are technical skills and abilities that the job requires:
 
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral) with co-workers, patrons, and management in order to safely and efficiently accomplish the various duties and assignments associated with this position.
  • Ability to use all necessary equipment to perform cage functions.
  • Ability to count money, add, subtract, organize, read and write.
  • Maintain interpersonal working relationships among all personnel. Answer all guest and team member inquires promptly and maintain politeness; pay attention to the needs of employees and guests at all times.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
 
While performing these job duties, the employee is regularly required to:
 
  • Stand, walk, sit; use hands to move fingers, handle, and/or feel; speak and hear.
  • Reach with hands and arms, with repetitive wrist movement when working computers or office equipment.
  • Ability to observe and have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral visions with depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
  • Normal daily physical activity included within a work day may include keyboarding, standing, bending/lifting, reaching carrying & walking.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds or more.
  • Exposure to various chemicals used in the maintenance of property.
  • Exposed to close space while working with others.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING * High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred;
 
  • Six months cashier or banking experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Regular attendance with flexibility in scheduling while maintaining an upbeat attitude.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain any licenses, permits, insurance, or indemnifications necessary for the completion of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position, or for the protection of the Company’s assets, employees, or patrons.

  • 8 hour shift
