Job Description

We are looking for someone with previous supervisory experience to join our team as Shift Supervisor. 
 
You are passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences through good, quality food and service. With previous experience, you are able to manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere. 
 
Responsible for quick, efficient, sincere guest service with a positive and pleasant attitude. This position will oversee all cooks and cashiers on shift ensuring the best guest experience. The Shift Supervisor acts as back-up Cashier as necessary. Must have good communication skills and be ready to work as a team. Must have the ability to lead a team through servant leadership.
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Hospitality: Creates an emotional bond with the guest by making a connection with them. Recognizes opportunities to exceed a guest’s expectations, regardless of the circumstance. Displays an energetic and caring attitude just as you would for a guest in your own home. They will remember this and it will lead to repeat visits. This type of interaction with the guest applies in the restaurant or on the phone.

  • Proper Image: Maintains professionalism in personal appearance, conduct, and in the completion of duties by adhering to all of Huey Magoo’s policies and procedures. Holds all team members accountable for wearing the correct uniforms and conducting themselves professionally. 

  • Cash Accountability: Ensure all cash and credit cards payments are collected and secure in the prescribed procedures.

  • Menu: Maintains a thorough knowledge of all menu items, prices, sales techniques, and ordering procedures. Responds to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.

  • Food Quality and Presentation: Supervises orders to ensure all food items are prepared accurately according to guest checks. Maintains standards for appearance and presentation according to system standards. Completes daily food safety checks including FIFO, secondary code dates, Health Inspections and be able to actively monitor food handling in the restaurant.

  • Marketing and Promotions: Assists and implements marketing strategies as directed by the company in the restaurant as well as off-site promotions.

  • Cleanliness: Responsible for ensuring the general cleanliness and appearance of the front and back of house, including dining room, condiment, drink area and takeout counter, kitchen, and restrooms before, during and at the end of shift. 

  • Safety Practice: Adheres to established safety rules to ensure customer and employee safety. May be responsible for opening and/or closing store. Maintains alertness to assist in the event of an accident or emergency. Promptly notifies management of safety concerns and accidents.

  • Training: Assists in training and coaching team members in health and fire regulations regarding food preparation, serving, and building maintenance in dining facilities. Assists in the roll-out of training and new or revised practices. Trains team members to communicate with customers to ensure we are providing a friendly experience.

  • Inventory Management: Monitors food and beverage deliveries to verify product quality and quantity. Reports shortages or other issues to management immediately.

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or higher preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Previous cashier experience in a fast casual restaurant environment preferred 
  • ServeSafe certification a plus
  • Experience with online ordering systems is a plus
  • Ability to efficiently operate point-of-sale system to accurately enter orders and collect cash, make change and process credit payments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously required
  • Effective interpersonal skills required
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English; Multilingual a plus.
  • Ability to work standing for 8+ hours
