Job Description
A host is the first person a guest meets when they enter a Texas Roadhouse. They are the face of the restaurant. A host should be able to perform a variety of tasks, from greeting guests, answering phones, seating guests, preparing food, helping children, taking takeout orders, and rolling silverware.
Job Tasks:
Declaration(s) of essential functions.
• Ensures every guest receives a legendary welcome and farewell when dining at Texas Roadhouse.
• Effectively and correctly use the POS (point of sale) system (if applicable).
• Ensures all guests feel comfortable and cared for.
• Effectively maintains wait and quote times during each shift.
• Maintains a clean and well-stocked bathroom during each shift.
• Answers all phone calls, handles takeout orders, and calls ahead to request seats.
• Communicates effectively with server wizards to ensure quick table changes.
• Ensures that every guest is told our story.
• Adheres to core values: passion, collaboration, integrity, and fun, all with a purpose.
• Understands and effectively executes the first-time guest program.
• Practice safety and sanitation at all times.
• Completes proper opening and closing duties as determined by the Manager, which may include: setting up the host's booth, turning on the music, cleaning windows and meat case, opening doors, sweeping the floor, cleaning ashtrays, and laying carpets.
• During each shift, a manager will designate a host to be responsible for recording all transactions related to the host position's tasks at the POS; This includes, but is not limited to, takeout sales, gift card sales, and change for guests.
• During each shift, the host is responsible for delivering silverware, bread and children's menus and crayons to each guest as needed.
• Under the direction of the Manager, the host may be responsible for helping a guest choose their steak from the display case. The host may also be responsible for selling "Blossoms" and delivering the appetizer to the guests' table if requested.
• Maintains proper etiquette with all staff members and guests.
• Demonstrates teamwork at all times.
• Participate in contests and online dances during each shift.
• Maintains adequate uniform and hygiene standards at all times.
