Description: The Line Cook is a crucial member of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing high-quality dishes with precision and efficiency. Under the direction of the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager, they execute recipes to ensure consistency and excellence in flavor and presentation. In addition to their main kitchen duties, Line Cooks also assist with various tasks in the back, such as dishwashing and cleaning, to maintain an organized and sanitary kitchen environment. Importantly, Line Cooks do not receive tips, but they are valued for their hard work and dedication to culinary excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure that all dishes are cooked to the right temperature and presented in an attractive way.
  • Comply with food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and sanitary work area.
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and preparing sauces.
  • Coordinate with the rest of the kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient execution of orders.
  • Monitor food inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the Kitchen Manager.
  • Help receive and store deliveries, ensuring correct stock rotation.
  • Assist in general kitchen tasks, such as washing dishes, cleaning, and disinfecting equipment.
  • Follow the instructions of the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager and contribute to a positive work environment.
Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role, preferred.
  • Solid understanding of cooking techniques and operation of kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical endurance to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Willingness to learn and receive instructions from senior kitchen staff.
  • Food handler certification or willingness to obtain it.
Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
