PAYROLL SPECIALIST 
FULL TIME, NON-EXEMPT HOURLY POSITION 
 
Position Summary: 
The ideal candidate for the Payroll Clerk position will be able to verify, process, organize and reconcile time and attendance; this person should be able to work independently and as part of a team. They must be well-organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to adapt to our dynamic environment. 
 
Essential Functions: 
-          Collects and summarizes timekeeping information 
-          Organizes and processes both scheduled and interim payroll calculations and disbursements 
-          Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions 
-          Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances 
-          Maintains historical records by organizing and managing documentation 
-          Protects organization value by keeping information confidential 
-          Serve as a critical support link between field operations and the corporate office for tracking of related expenses and activity 
-          Drive improvements to the design and execution of financial controls within our corporate office and field operations 
-          Assist in month end closing processes 
-          Creates, analyzes, and distributes financial reports 
-          Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices 
-          Assist with other projects as needed 
 
Qualifications/Requirements (Education/Training/Experience/Abilities): 
-          Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with experience in general ledger accounting software and reporting tools 
-          Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP or other integrated GL software 
-          Candidate must be motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, and able to get results in a fast paced environment 
-          Excellent written and oral communication skills required 
-          Education or work experience in an accounting related field is preferred 
-          Candidate must be a team player and demonstrate strong analytical abilities and a positive, can-do mentality 
-          Must be able to pass a background
