JOB DESCRIPTION & EXPECTATIONS
Hendler Family Brewing Company is looking for energetic, personable individuals to join us as a bartender at our Owl's Nest Summer pop ups. The Bartender plays a major role in providing guests with a consistently positive experience at Night Shift Brewing.
We are looking for someone who is outgoing, possesses good interpersonal and communication skills, who is able to reliably commute to one or all of the following locations:
Night Shift Esplanade – by the Hatch Shell along the Charles River
Night Shift Allston – at Herter Park along the Charles River
Night Shift on The Greenway – by South Station in Dewey Square
This is a seasonal position which is scheduled to end in October. Anticipated start date is mid-to-late April. We’re always looking to add permanent staff to our team, and this is a great way to gain exposure for future positions!
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Service and Guest Experience:
Ensure excellent customer service to provide an outstanding guest experience at all times.
Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
Be knowledgeable about all food and beverage menu items, including new releases and seasonal offerings, to make informed recommendations.
Assist customers by taking and accurately processing food and beverage orders, including special attention to allergies, restrictions, and dietary preferences.
Answer and assist customers with questions, reservations, and general inquiries.
Maintain an accurate cash drawer and handle credit card transactions efficiently.
Check patrons' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for alcohol consumption.
Food and Beverage Operations:
Assist in fulfilling beverage orders.
Monitor guest consumption and practice responsible serving.
Change kegs as necessary.
Complete orders with retail beer and merchandise to go.
Cleanliness and Organization:
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, especially in high-contact areas.
Sanitize high-touch point areas regularly.
Restock coolers, tap handles, and supplies as needed.
Set up and break down bar areas before and after shifts or events.
Team Collaboration and Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with setting up and breaking down events.
Perform additional duties or responsibilities as needed to support the Beer Gardens and ensure a great guest experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Teamwork: This position will work closely with other bartenders, servers, management and related restaurant teams.
Flexibility: Please note that this role requires working in shifts and during evenings and/or weekends
Quick thinking: The bartender will need to think and act quickly to problem solve while retaining composure and professionalism.
Development: Willingness and ability to learn and adapt are key.
Experience: Previous bartending experience is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Takes pride and responsibility in punctuality and teamwork
Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role
Knowledge of craft beer is a plus but not required
Willingness to continuously learn about our beer offerings and the craft beer industry
Strong team player with a willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment
Job Requirements
Must be 21+ years of age
Available for days, nights and weekend shifts of 5 hours or more.
Must have Saturday and/or Sunday availability.
Stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to bend, reach, twist and use your hands and arms.
Reliable transportation to and from assigned work location(s).
Has on-premise TIP Certification, or Alcohol Intervention Methods Certification a plus.
Craft beer knowledge is a plus.

Wormtown Brewery started in 2010 on Park Ave in Worcester, MA, transforming an old ice cream shop into a small brewery. From the beginning, the focus was on crafting great beer while staying true to its hometown roots. With strong support from the local community, new recipes were created and refined.
