Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, customer-oriented Cashier to process all transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing outstanding service and maintaining a friendly and welcoming environment for all customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the store and provide excellent customer service.
- Operate cash registers, handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and change to customers as required.
- Maintain accurate cash drawer, ensuring all transactions are recorded properly.
- Answer customer inquiries and assist with locating products or services.
- Handle returns and exchanges in line with store policies.
- Keep checkout areas clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Follow all store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, or discounts.
- Report any discrepancies or suspicious activity to the supervisor.
- Support other store functions as needed (e.g., stocking shelves, tidying displays).
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus.
- Strong basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical aspects of the job.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
