Cherry Cricket is where friends, families and out-of-towners have been going for burgers and their brew of choice since 1945. 
 
We’re a Denver institution because we serve up the best appetizers, sides, entrees and award-winning burgers with a “welcome home, now sit down and enjoy” attitude. For 80 years now, we've continued to fill bellies with the city's favorite burgers paired with Colorado made beers. The memories made at the Cricket are just as important as the amazing food we serve. The Cricket is a place where a delicious burger, a cold beer, and good friends will always be waiting. 
 
We are thrilled to open our newest restaurant in Broomfield this summer, and we are now hiring part-time and full-time Prep Cooks!

Prep Cooks prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and plays a key role in contributing to exceeding our guests’ expectations. 
 
Pay starting at $17 - $22/hour 
 
Responsibilities 
  • Follow the prep list created by chefs
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
  • Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, removing trash etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance

Qualifications and Requirements
 
  • Prior experience as a Prep Cook in a high volume and fast paces kitchen is preferred
  • Knowledgeable of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Manual dexterity to operate cutting tolls and kitchen utensils
  • Team player with positive and professional communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow sanitization rules
  • Able to stay on your feet for an extended period of time and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • Time management skills
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Remain available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
