Company Overview:
Join our Team! The Big Chill 30A is a family friendly entertainment complex located on historic 30A, nestled between Alys Beach and Seaside. Our venue hosts 5 restaurants, 3 bars, retail shops, an amphitheater for live music and a 25’ LED Jumbotron for sports and movies. We are open year-round, from 7am to 10pm. 
 
NECTAR coffee shop is now hiring for the spring/summer season! Proudly serving Lucky Goat Coffee and an eclectic breakfast menu including fresh pastries, acai bowls, smoothies and morning sandwiches, we also offer both hand-scooped and soft serve ice cream and signature shakes. Open positions will require evening availability, with flexible scheduling offered for students.

Key responsibilities

Ice cream duties
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders and flavor selections.
  • Scoop and serve ice cream, milkshakes, smoothies, acai bowls, etc. 
  • Offer samples and engage with customers to enhance their experience.
  • Maintain a clean and organized ice cream station, including display cases and serving areas.
  • Restock ice cream tubs, toppings, and other supplies as needed.
Barista duties
  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold coffee and espresso beverages according to company standards.
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of our beverage menu to answer customer questions and offer recommendations.
  • Assist with other food preparation tasks, such as portioning or breakfast items.
General duties
  • Handle electronic payments accurately using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Communicate effectively with team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures and maintain cleanliness throughout the cafe.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including cleaning, stocking, and preparing for the next shift.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an ice cream server, barista, or in a food service role is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility in schedule is a plus. This position will have a focus on afternoons and evenings . Need to be available to work weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for creating excellent guest experiences.

Compensation: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

Uniforms
Upon hire, all team members are issued a complimentary uniform that consists of 2 shirts, 1 hat and 1 name tag. Additional items may be purchased at cost.
Each year on your work anniversary, you will receive another uniform issue of 2 shirts, 1 hat and 1 name tag. Please let your direct supervisor know when it’s time for your anniversary issue.
Shift Meals
All team members receive a complimentary meal up to $20 in value with each shift worked (shift must be 6 hours or more). Please review the team member meal policy section of your handbook for more details on this benefit.
Discounts
All team members receive a 50% discount on items that are not eligible for the shift meal(ice cream, milkshakes, bottled beverages, coffee drinks).
When visiting The Big Chill during time off, all team members receive a 50% discount on all food & beverage purchases (excluding alcoholic beverages)

Bonus Program
Welcome Back Bonus: $100 per year (maximum $500)
