CREW LINE COOK - 604LOHA GRILL
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The Crew Cook is responsible for managing an assigned cook and/or prep station, accurately preparing and plating menu items to company standards, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and ensuring consistent food quality and safety. Duties include ingredient prep, cooking, portioning, storage, and assisting with inventory and waste control. The Crew Cook reports directly to the Crew Manager and supports the team in delivering an exceptional guest experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operations & Food Quality
- Completes station setup and breakdown procedures as outlined in company standards.
- Prepares and plates all menu items accurately and consistently according to company recipes and quality standards.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with fellow cooks, prep team, and the expediter to ensure timely and accurate service.
- Ensures all food items are properly received, stored, labeled, and rotated per company procedures and food safety guidelines.
- Assists with prep, portioning, and par levels to support daily production needs while minimizing waste.
- Completes side-work and cleaning duties as assigned and according to checklists and training standards.
Guest Service & Teamwork
- Supports guest service standards by ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely preparation of food orders.
- Maintains a positive and cooperative attitude; supports other team members as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Communicates menu knowledge, including ingredients, preparation methods, and modifications, when needed to support service team communication.
Safety, Compliance & Company Standards
- Follows company policies and procedures, including food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
- Maintains personal hygiene, grooming, and uniform standards per company policy.
- Practices safe use of kitchen equipment and reports safety concerns immediately.
- Follows attendance standards and company procedures for scheduling, time-off requests, and call-outs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred: 18 years of age or older (due to equipment use and safety guidelines).
- Ability to read and communicate in English clearly and effectively.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods during shift.
- Ability to perform basic math functions for measurements and portioning.
- Valid state-required food handler/health card (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, teamwork, and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Manual dexterity and coordination to handle kitchen tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
