TikTok-First Social Media Manager

United Skates of America | Full-time | $50,000 per year
Based at our Rumford location: 75 New Rd, Rumford, RI 02916

United Skates of America is looking for a creative, energetic Social Media Manager to help bring our roller skating centers to life online. This position is based at our Rumford, Rhode Island, location, with travel to our other locations to capture content as needed.

TikTok will be a major focus of this entry-level role. You’ll spot trends that fit our brand, create original short-form videos, and show people what makes a day or night at United Skates fun. You’ll also help manage our presence across Instagram, Facebook, and other social platforms.

This is a hands-on position for someone ready to build their skills by taking content from idea to finished post: developing concepts, filming at our locations, editing, writing captions, posting, engaging with our audience, and learning from the results.

What you’ll do

  • Help plan and create TikTok content, with a strong focus on original, entertaining video.
  • Capture the energy of our rinks, including public skates, themed events, birthday parties, school and camp trips, fundraisers, group events, and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Create content that helps guests discover what they can do at United Skates—from skating and games to food, parties, and special events.
  • Visit our locations to film guests’ experiences, team members, DJs, event setups, new attractions, and everyday rink life.
  • Work with rink teams to identify timely stories, promotions, and moments worth sharing.
  • Follow social trends, sounds, and formats, and adapt the ones that fit United Skates and our audiences.
  • Support social content for promotions, seasonal events, new offerings, and location-specific campaigns.
  • Edit short-form video and write engaging captions and calls to action.
  • Publish and schedule content across TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and other relevant channels.
  • Monitor comments and messages, engage with our community, and route customer questions to the right team.
  • Track content performance and use the results to improve future posts.
  • Help keep content organized so our locations can share and reuse approved assets.
What we’re looking for

  • A strong interest in social media, especially TikTok and short-form video.
  • Experience creating content for a personal account, school, club, business, or organization. Professional experience is welcome, but this is an entry-level opportunity.
  • Comfort filming and editing video on a phone using tools such as CapCut or similar software.
  • A good instinct for which trends fit a brand—and which ones don’t.
  • Strong writing skills, creativity, organization, and follow-through.
  • Comfort working in active, busy environments and interacting with team members and guests.
  • A portfolio or examples of content you’ve created.
Experience or interest in entertainment, hospitality, events, family attractions, or roller skating is a plus.

Schedule

This is a full-time position based at our Rumford location, with flexibility in scheduling. Some weekends are required so you can capture events and the energy of our locations when they’re busiest.

To apply: Send examples of content you’ve created to  Include links to hr@usa-skating.com  of TikTok, Instagram, or other accounts you’ve managed or contributed to.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
