About Republic

Republic Chophouse is an independent steakhouse in Green Bay, serving dinner. Guests come for an evening worth remembering, and the service must match the food: knowledgeable, attentive, and polished without being stiff.

The Role

Keep the bar ready and the Bartenders supplied. As a Barback, you support only the Bartenders and the bar area by staying ahead of glassware, ice, beverage stock, clearing, and cleanup. Your service assignment is the bar, not the dining-room floor.

This is a support role, not a Bartender position. Bartenders own drink preparation, food and beverage orders, payments, and the guest experience at the bar. Bring energy, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn; prior restaurant or bar-support experience is helpful, but not required.

What You Own

•    Bar stock and ice. Keep beer, wine, liquor, ice, and bar supplies available as directed by the Bartenders. Replenish the bar before stock runs short, keep storage organized, and report shortages promptly. Use safe handling procedures and complete required training before assigned tasks.

•    Deliveries and upstairs stock. Put away the weekly liquor delivery in designated storage areas as directed. Bring needed bar stock down from upstairs twice daily and replenish additional items when the Bartenders request them. Use manageable loads and ask for help with heavy or awkward items.

•    Glassware and bus tubs. Collect used bar glassware and dishes, empty bar bus tubs into the dish area, and return clean items to their designated places. Wash, sanitize, and polish glassware as assigned. Report chipped or broken items and keep clean and dirty items separate.

•    A clean, ready bar. Assist with stocking, clearing, cleaning, trash and recycling removal, and closing in the bar area. Keep bar work surfaces and walkways orderly, address spills promptly, and report hazards or equipment problems you cannot safely resolve.

•    Bartender support. Follow the Bartenders’ priorities and coordinate tasks when more than one Bartender or Barback is working. Clear used items from the bar as directed without interrupting guests. Refer guest orders, drink questions, and service concerns to a Bartender; do not independently prepare drinks, take orders, or handle payments.

How the Day Runs

Arrive ready and check the bar’s stock, ice, glassware, and supply needs with the Bartenders. Complete assigned setup, keep replenishment and cleanup moving throughout service, and finish the bar closing checklist. Leave the bar and storage areas clean and organized, then check with the manager on duty before leaving.

Who Runs the Floor

You report to the Assistant General Manager. Work with the manager on duty: the Floor Manager, AGM, or GM leading that shift.

Work directly with the Bartenders on bar priorities. Bring “Absolutely, no problem” hospitality to your work and ask the manager on duty to resolve competing requests. Refer guest concerns to a Bartender or the manager; the manager on duty decides voids, discounts and comps.

How This Role Is Measured

•    Bar readiness. Bartenders have the ice, glassware, beverage stock, and supplies they need. Required upstairs-stock trips and assigned delivery put-away work are completed.

•    Awareness and follow-through. Replenishment and clearing needs are noticed early. Bartender requests are completed promptly, and shortages or delays are communicated before they interrupt service.

•    Cleanliness and safety. The bar, bar storage, and work paths stay clean and organized. Glassware, bus tubs, stock, ice, and waste are handled safely.

•    Readiness and teamwork. Arrive prepared, follow the Bartenders’ directions, and complete assigned bar side work and closing duties. Accept coaching and apply it on the next task.

Schedule and Presence

This role supports dinner service, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Arrive on time, be ready when you arrive, and complete your assigned closing work. Follow the dress, grooming, and footwear requirements outlined in the employee handbook throughout your shift.

What We’re Looking For

•    Work ethic and initiative. Stay engaged through a busy shift, anticipate supply needs, and complete tasks without reminders. Reliability and willingness to learn matter more than prior bartending experience.

•    Organization and friendliness. Listen carefully, prioritize several requests, and stay courteous under pressure. Know when to ask a Bartender for direction or involve the manager.

•    Care with details. Learn the bar’s glassware, products, storage locations, sanitation procedures, and safe equipment use. Follow house rules and stay within your training and authorization.

•    Physical requirements. Able to stand and walk through service, bend and reach, use stairs, and safely carry glassware, bus tubs, ice, beverage stock, and supplies, with or without reasonable accommodation. Use safe loads and ask for help when needed.

What We Offer

•    Earning opportunity. Historical total earnings average approximately $18 per hour, including base wages and recorded tips. Actual earnings vary by shifts worked, guest volume, and the applicable tip-out arrangement; historical averages are not guaranteed.

•    Retirement and health. 401(k) eligibility after 90 days, with a 3% match when you contribute 6% or more. Health insurance for full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week, with a 50/50 premium split, individual or family coverage, and an HSA option, subject to plan terms.

•    Learning and dining. Training in house service standards, tuition reimbursement up to $500 per semester for eligible hospitality or business courses, and a 25% employee dining discount.
Compensation: $7.25 per hour

U.S. Equal Opportunity Employment Information (Completion is voluntary)

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

You are being given the opportunity to provide the following information in order to help us comply with federal and state Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action record keeping, reporting, and other legal requirements.

Completion of the form is entirely voluntary. Whatever your decision, it will not be considered in the hiring process or thereafter. Any information that you do provide will be recorded and maintained in a confidential file.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 4/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection.
