The Pantry Cook will play a crucial role in ensuring the high-quality preparation and presentation of cold food items and salads. This position requires attention to detail, creativity, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble cold food items, salads, and appetizers according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pantry station, including refrigerators, workstations, and storage areas.
- Ensure all food products are fresh and properly stored, following food safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient food production.
- Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies when needed.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of food items.
- Contribute ideas for menu development and participate in seasonal menu changes.
- Adhere to Bayshore's culinary standards and guidelines for consistency and quality.
- Assist with any other kitchen duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pantry Cook or similar role in a restaurant or culinary establishment.
- Knowledge of cold food preparation techniques, including salad and appetizer assembly.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Creativity and a passion for culinary excellence.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required.
