Job Summary:

The Server at Coopershill is responsible for providing friendly and efficient service to all guests, ensuring they have an enjoyable dining experience. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized section. The Server is expected to have a good understanding of the menu, make recommendations, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet guests warmly, take orders, and provide menu recommendations based on guest preferences. Ensure guests have a positive dining experience by being attentive and responsive to their needs.
  • Order Taking & Accuracy: Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate them effectively to the kitchen and bar. Ensure all orders are delivered correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Serving Food & Beverages: Serve food and drinks with attention to presentation and guest preferences. Check back with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns or requests.
  • Menu Knowledge: Maintain thorough knowledge of the food and drink menu, including daily specials, dietary restrictions, and allergy considerations. Be able to answer guest questions and provide recommendations.
  • Table Maintenance: Keep tables clean, organized, and reset as needed. Clear empty plates, glassware, refill drinks, and ensure that guests' needs are met throughout their meal. Clean tables, chairs and floor around tables, and reset tables after guests leave. Support bar in cleaning and maintaining bar surfaces and seating areas.
  • Service Cleaning & Maintenance: Clean and restock service areas, maintain cleanliness of the dining room including glass partitions, doors, work and dining areas. Clean, restock, and maintain guest facilities including restrooms. 
  • Cash Handling & Payment: Process payments accurately, including cash, credit cards, and tabs. Ensure proper handling of guest checks and manage any discrepancies.
  • Opening & Closing Duties: Perform opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas, cleaning, and restocking supplies.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all food handling and safety procedures, ensuring a clean and sanitary work environment. Adhere to local health regulations and Coopershill’s policies.
Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Previous experience as a server in a casual dining or pub environment is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
    • Ability to lift and carry trays and other items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Food handler’s certification preferred.
  • Personality: Friendly, outgoing, and able to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. A team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Working Conditions:

The Server will work in a fast-paced environment, often during evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role requires standing and walking for long periods and handling the physical demands of serving guests.
Compensation: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
